Pre-Epoxy Floor Cleaner
Meet ACE-EPX-PREP SOLV CLEANER, a heavy-duty solvent cleaner for preparing concrete and metal floors before epoxy, PU or MMA flooring. It is designed to dissolve oil, grease and hydrocarbon residues, helping leave the substrate chemically clean before primer application.
A Cleaner Substrate, Ready for Flooring
The performance of epoxy, PU and MMA flooring depends on the condition of the surface beneath the coating. Oil, grease, wax, silicone, rubber marks, curing compounds and hydrocarbon residues can interfere with primer wetting and coating adhesion.
ACE-EPX-PREP SOLV CLEANER is a fast-evaporating, high-solvency pre-application cleaner for concrete and metal floors. According to the product brochure, it dries in 5–15 minutes and leaves no residue after evaporation.
Prepare Floors for Better Coating Readiness
Designed to help address common surface contamination challenges before epoxy, PU or MMA flooring is applied.
Oil & Grease Removal
Helps dissolve oil, grease and hydrocarbon residues that can interfere with primer adhesion.
Fast Evaporation
The brochure specifies a 5–15 minute drying time, helping support the transition to the next preparation stage when conditions allow.
Nil Residue After Evaporation
Formulated to leave no residue after evaporation, according to the product brochure.
Fits Floor Preparation
Can be incorporated alongside suitable grinding and shot-blasting processes as part of the surface-preparation workflow.
Where Pre-Epoxy Cleaning Matters
The product is intended for pre-application floor preparation where compatible surfaces require cleaning before coating.
Concrete Floors Before Epoxy or PU
Pre-application cleaning to address oil and other compatible contaminants before primer and flooring application.
Industrial Floors & Warehouses
Surface preparation in industrial shop floors, warehouses and other suitable working environments.
Automotive Workshops & Parking Areas
Cleaning oil-contaminated floors before suitable coating work, following a site assessment.
Pharmaceutical & FMCG Plants
Pre-flooring preparation for compatible surfaces in pharmaceutical and fast-moving consumer goods facilities.
Machine Foundations & Repair Zones
Preparation of suitable machine-foundation areas and local floor-repair zones before coating.
Oil-Contaminated Floors
An option for compatible oil-contaminated surfaces where water cleaning may not effectively remove the contamination.
Six Steps from Floor Cleaning to Primer
Follow the process and safety instructions in the product brochure and the flooring-system manufacturer's guidance.
Remove Dust
Sweep or vacuum loose dust and debris from the surface before applying the cleaner.
Apply the Cleaner
Apply by mop, lint-free cloth or low-pressure spray where permitted by the product instructions and site conditions.
Scrub if Required
Scrub heavily contaminated areas where necessary to assist cleaning of the affected surface.
Allow to Dry
Allow the solvent to evaporate. The brochure states a typical drying time of 5–15 minutes.
Rinse as Directed
Follow the brochure's specified rinse step using free-flowing water or wet mopping, and confirm the surface is ready for coating.
Proceed to Priming
Once the surface meets the flooring system's preparation requirements, proceed with the specified primer and flooring system.
Check the Surface Before Application
Confirm substrate compatibility and site conditions before using the cleaner on a full floor area.
Suitable Surfaces
According to the brochure: concrete, cementitious screeds, mild steel and existing epoxy surfaces when preparing for recoating.
Not Recommended
Plastic and solvent-sensitive surfaces are listed as not recommended. Carry out a site trial before full-scale use.
